Custom resources file path has double entries

When i view files from the assets folder the file path has doubled up entries
eg
/resources/assets/styles/resources/assets/styles/components/_nav.scss

you can see that resources/assets/styles occurs twice

Anyone know why this is happening? Is it expected behaviour?

Because your config isn’t right - from your other topic:
