Deploying to production server on Shared Hosting with Ansible

I’ve been searching about for how to manage this. I know I should use DO or other VPS, I’m not really at a place to do that right not (other, bigger, problem).

I might use Wordmove as it looks easy, however I’d love to hear details on how it can be done with Ansible.

While it’s possible to use Trellis deploys on a shared host I don’t know if I’d recommend it. Trellis deploys are meant to seamlessly work on a Trellis provisioned server. Without that, there’s a lot of manual work you’d need to do.

There’s no guide for this and it would vary per shared host anyway.

The deploy process in Trellis assumes the server being deployed to is also managed by Trellis. Because of this I wouldn’t recommend using Trellis to deploy to a non-Trellis server. You should consider using something like Capistrano instead.
