Could you see if [roots#trellis761](https://github.com/roots/trellis/pull/761) resolves it for you?

Also, seeing that you’re on Ansible 2.2.1.0, you may want to be sure you have applied [roots/trellis#758](https://github.com/roots/trellis/pull/758) (more [notes here](https://discourse.roots.io/t/trellis-provisioning-ansible-server-yml-fails-when-root-login-not-permitted/6626/8)).
