Hey,

Since I activated the Gravityforms plugin, I have this warning message in the dashboard:

> Upload folder is not writable. Export and file upload features will not be functional.

I checked the uploads folder’s permissions (app/uploads), it’s well set to 755. I made a chown -R :www-data on the folder to make sure that the web server is able to write to the directory but nothing, I still have the warning message.

What’s up with that? Any Ideas?

Your chown command changed the group to www-data, but the group permissions are only set to read/execute.

Drop the : to make the www-data user the owner or use 775.
