# Media files issue after migration

I migrated my site to a new domain, and now for some reason all of my media uploads are coming up as 404. However, when I look in the media directory they are all there. Any ideas of what is happening? I’m thinking it has something to do with the permalinks?

I see there is someone having a similar issue to mine, [Root's "Change default upload location from wp-content/uploads" not working](http://discourse.roots.io/t/roots-change-default-upload-location-from-wp-content-uploads-not-working/165). But there was no response of what the resolution might be.

Did you do take any steps to investigate, like visiting your permalinks settings screen?

Also, are you using an old version of roots that does the `/app/` rewrites? Using bedrock? This would all be helpful for us to know.
