Menu Styling

Hi all. I have just inherited a site that was made with the original Roots theme. I have zero understanding of how Roots works. I just wanted to add two drop down items to the menu and have the items styled to match the rest of the menu. So far I have had no luck. I’ve watched a video that points me to using SASS and and compilers and all sorts of things. Is there a simple way for me to style the pull down items in the menu?

Thanks Timmen. The site I am working on is installed with the original Roots theme not Sage. Will this work in the same manner?
