# Redhat Releases Ansible Tower as Open Source

Given that Trellis makes extensive use of Ansible, I thought this might be of interest:

It seems that they are going to follow the same development methodology that they already use with Fedora and RHEL - AWX will be open source and freely available but will not be officially supported. Any support will come from the community, just like with Fedora.

Redhat will create the commercially supported tower product by hardening AWX releases.

It’s a great system in that we get to use the code and they get community feedback and innovation. I’m going to give it a whirl with Trellis to see how it works.
