Sage not picking up custom Page Templates

If I understand correctly, then I should be able to start creating new Page Templates like so:

Copy template-custom.php to template-whatever.php, edit the “Template Name” value ,and then edit the content of that file.

This seems simple enough. However, when I try to assign the new Page Template to a Page, my new template doesn’t show up in the dropdown menu under “page attributes”.

What am I missing?

You’re not missing anything? Maybe the cache of your browser?

Hi.

I guess it must have been!
I cleared my cache, restarted my browser, and now I see the item in the Page Attributes menu.

I should have thought of this before.
