This seems related more to virualbox than anything, but I’m curious if anyone has any ideas what to do about this?

```
The IP address configured for the host-only network is not within the
allowed ranges. Please update the address used to be within the allowed
ranges and run the command again.
  Address: 192.168.50.5
  Ranges: 192.168.56.0/21
Valid ranges can be modified in the /etc/vbox/networks.conf file. For
more information including valid format see:
  https://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch06.html#network_hostonly
exit status 1
```

I’ve searched all over, tinkered around in vbox based on the link they provide, but nothing seems to work. This is happening on both of my computers – even after a fresh install.

I am having the exact same issue right now. I don’t know if that has to do with anything, but i am on windows with WSL.

Downgrade to VirtualBox [v6.1.26](https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Download_Old_Builds_6_1) for now, this happens with the latest v6.1.28…

See [this post](https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-8671230.html) for a possible workaround.
