Vertical Navigation - i need a wordpress "concept"

Is there any way to use a vertical navigation on the roots theme?
i like the extra scroller in that sidebar…
(like the roots website - its bootstrap i guess.)

does anyone got any experience on this?
can i use a wordpress sidebar on the left with a nav widget and get rid of the horizontal header-nav?
is there any other implementation to keep the mobile nav up there?
(nav stacked vertical instead of horizontal list)…

i dont know how to start this in wordpress in general - the implementation is no problem…

Doing everything you want doesn’t really have anything to do with WordPress, it’s just a matter of implementing the styling.

You mention the roots.io site, so you should start by inspecting elements & styles on there to see what’s going on. The header is the “sidebar” and CSS is used to apply fixed positioning.
