What do you need for a WordPress site (Sage+Bedrock+Trellis?)

I’m planning to build a WordPress site for a client. What do I need to do this? Only Sage and Trellis if using a VPS? Why do I have to use Bedrock?

Trellis uses Bedrock. If you’re using a pre-configured VPS you won’t be using Trellis for production, but you can use it for local dev.
