**New on the blog: [WooCommerce Telemetry: What’s Collected, What’s Default, and How to Turn It Off](https://roots.io/disable-woocommerce-telemetry/).**

WooCommerce’s usage tracker sends a weekly snapshot of your store — revenue totals, admin email, installed plugins, a 40-order sample, and around a hundred other fields to `tracking.woocommerce.com`. It’s off by default, but the setup wizard’s “share my data” box is pre-checked, and connecting a store to [WordPress.com](http://WordPress.com) (required for WooPayments and the Woo mobile app) silently flips the option to `yes`.

The post walks through what’s actually in the payload, why revenue data leaving your server matters, and four ways to turn it off.
