@andrew40 Could be related to johnpbloch/wordpress repo changes. See solution here [Deploy fails : This does not seem to be a WordPress install](https://discourse.roots.io/t/deploy-fails-this-does-not-seem-to-be-a-wordpress-install/9152/2) Perhaps it is your issue with Valet too and in that case you could do the composer part of the solution. Not certain though. But certainly cannot hurt.
