Hi Everyone, I’ve been using the Bedrock setup on Cloudways for years without any issues. However, for the past two weeks, I’ve been unable to connect to the database on new or cloned apps. Existing apps have no problems. Does anyone else have the same issue or perhaps a workaround? It would also be interesting to hear from someone who also uses Cloudways with a WP Bedrock app; I’m curious to know if you’re able to clone the app or add a new one. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Thanks.
I recommend reaching out to Cloudways to ask if anything has changed on their end in recent days.
Thanks for your reply. I was already in contact with Cloudways Support, but it took a bit of time. Today they found a solution, maybe useful for other Cloudways users:
“The PHP putenv function is disabled by default in all new applications, causing database connection errors during cloning or creation of new Bedrock setup applications. To enable the putenv
function on your end for other applications, remove its name from the PHP FPM settings:”
Hi - we had this issue too but today they rolled out this update of disabling putenv onto live applications!
Several of our live, high traffic sites went offline without warning.
I’ve asked for a support ticket to quickly escalated as this could end up taking all Bedrock sites offline on Cloudways!
