I have a bunch of simple WP sites on a shared server. I’d love to get some insight from the Roots community as I consider moving most of them to a WMPU network on a VPS.

Multisite is possibly good for a hosted service you want to provide, something like wordpress.com. But generally if you want to host client websites, stay away from Multisite.
