Nginx rewrite rules for /wp

I am curious if anyone has tried using rewrite rules on nginx to hide the wp directory and make it apper that wordpress has a more traditional directory structure.

Basically when a user goes to /wp-login.php they would get /wp/wp-login.php, wp-admin/* they would get wp/wp-admin/* ect. Maybe even go so far as to block direct access to the wp folder.

I’d appreciate any feedback on how I could accomplish this.

Thanks.
