Nodejs on prod

Hello,

I would like to know if it is mandatory on the production server to have nodejs installed to use roots/sage because I have it locally for dev but it is not available on my host.

No, it is only needed when building assets like css and js which should not be done (or at least very much avoided) on staging or prod severs.
