We’re back from a bit of a break with a look at some of the recent updates at Roots, and our experiences working with the new WP-API and React in WordPress.
Thanks for giving us the time off, and look forward to some more topical episodes coming up next!
I’ve been listening to the podcasts for a while now, used various roots projects and generally singing the praises of the roots’ approach to Wordpress development to anyone who’ll listen! Just wanted to say thanks for all the amazing work you guys have done and wanted to address an issue that seems to be a reoccurring theme on the podcast and here on the discourse. There is (occasionally) a theme of “this is too hard”, “things change too quickly”, “can’t keep up”, etc. I’d like to give chuck my two pence worth into this discussion: As someone who started to learn about development in (less than) the last two years I can honestly say that using some of the roots projects have not only helped me build better Wordpress sites but accelerated my learning curve and genuinely made me a better developer. Yes, some of it is hard and a lot of it changes quickly but that’s a huge part of web development today. I’ve got so far to go, but I’m positive without roots it would be a lot further. Keep up the amazing work guys, I can’t thank you enough…
