The Service Design Studio (part of the New York City Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity or NYC Opportunity for short) is seeking a WordPress theme developer to produce a theme using existing designs. This would replace the current https://civicservicedesign.com and add additional content that showcases the studio’s work.
Candidates will work closely with the Service Design Studio’s design team and NYC Opportunity’s technology team to integrate blog content and stand up the site on WP Engine.
Requirements
- WordPress theme and plugin (if required) development experience. A starter theme with a template rendering language (Blade/Twig) such as Sage is highly encouraged.
- Front-end development experience including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Dependency management experience including Composer (PHP) and NPM (JavaScript).
- WCAG AA Accessibility Compliance.
- Mobile-first development experience with support for iOS and Android.
- Modern desktop support as well as Internet Explorer 11 (sorry).
- Proficient understanding of Git and GitHub.
- Experience with WP Engine Hosting.
