Upgrading to Laravel 5.8 for PHPStorm Debugging features of Blade templates

I’m trying to take advantage of the new Blade debugging features in PHPStorm, see:

Can Sage 9 run on Laravel >= 5.8? Does anybody have any experience trying this?
